Travel Times and Transport Options
With a wide range of accommodation options located right on campus, there’s no reason to stay anywhere else. Living on campus not only means you’re super close to classes, but you’ll also be able to keep in the loop of events and activities happening at uni. If you’d prefer to live off campus, there are two UniLodge properties that are within walking distance.
Both being well under a 20-minute walk to campus, you won’t have to stress about being stuck in traffic or using up your money on catching public transport every day. On your days off, you’ll find it easy to navigate the city, thanks to the integrated public transport network. Plan your trips in advance and avoid getting lost by using journey planner.
Local Attractions
Canberra is a place rich in Australian history and offers a diverse range of attractions and experiences. Head to Parliament House to admire its incredible architecture and learn about important events in Australian history. And if you visit during sitting times, you’ll be given a firsthand view of how Aussie parliament functions. If art museums are more your forte, the National Gallery of Australia is a must-see, with a collection of Australian, international and Aboriginal artwork.
When the sun is shining, head outside to Lake Burley Griffin, a manmade lake offering an array of recreational activities including boating and fishing, as well as walking and cycling tracks around the border.
