UniLodge JCU Halls of residence - Rotary International House has a fantastic offer for new residents! This purpose built student accommodation is located on James Cook Drive and is a 6 buildings, with a total of 18 apartments. Apartments have 2, 6 or 7 bedrooms each with individual rooms with split system air conditioning, shared kitchen and shared bathrooms.
This on-campus accommodation option provides fully furnished living areas with sofas, a dining table and chairs, fans and balcony. Each bedroom has a king single bed, large wardrobe and a hand wash basin.
Nestled into the quiet bushland there is also a community garden providing fresh produce that can be accessed by all students. In addition, all residents are encouraged to take part in the frequent and culturally diverse social activities organised by the UniLodge staff. There are friendly sporting competitions with other on-campus residences.
UniLodge JCU Halls of Residence - Rotary International House achieved NPAS accreditation in 2025. The National Property Accreditation Scheme (NPAS) is an industry-led program that is owned, governed, developed and administered by the Student Accommodation Association (SAA) to assist national education stakeholders to identify, promote and support quality managed student accommodation businesses which provide accommodation for the exclusive use of students. NPAS represents a stamp of quality, enabling students to make an informed choice about their accommodation. For a student accommodation property to be NPAS accredited, it must comply with the minimum standards set by the SAA with respect to amenity, facility, security, customer service and management processes.
BBQ facilities are located in the common outdoor areas of the property. Residents can enjoy a BBQ with friends, family or prepare a dinner for one.
The property features high speed wireless broadband via the EDUROAM network for James Cook University students throughout the main common areas of the building. Your Internet usage and connection is included in your utilities each week.
Bike storage is available for use though spaces are limited.
For your security, we provide individual electronic locks for your bedroom, the common room and other areas such as laundries. We also provide a free CCTV-monitored.
Parking at the complex is free. If you plan to have a car, please contact us directly to find out about parking availability and permits.
Our common room has couches, a television coffee table, pool table, table tennis, along with dedicated study common spaces.
Communal Kitchens are available with a stove and oven, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster.
James Cook University Student Association operate the gym on campus. Gym memberships for RIH residents must be purchased through JCUSA. Discount memberships available.
Laundry is located in a centralised block for all residents to use.
Note, this is not the same building as apartments.
Our on-site friendly customer service focused staff will be available offering general assistance, and pastoral care services – you will always have someone there for you.
There is an outdoor BBQ area for residents to enjoy a get together for a sausage sizzle, a game of soccer or just relaxing under the trees enjoying the wild life found on campus.
A computer room is available at Rotary International House, along with several other computers located throughout the campus.
Printing is available at multiple locations on campus using your student card.
The property is in a great location with close access to public transport, Sunbus run a regular service which includes a James Cook University stop.
James Cook University Library provides a vast collection of study materials, computers, study spaces, wireless technology and printing facilities.
All rooms are fitted with a desk and chair to allow you your private time to study.
There are plenty of cafes and food on campus, hospital district or shopping centre with Stockland about 10 minutes down the road. As well as many vending machines spread across campus if you need a quick snack.
