How do I reserve a room?

Complete the online application using our Accommodation Portal. If you would rather, you can also call our office on (02) 9017 6250 or email unsw@unilodge.com.au where our friendly team will be very happy to help.

What does my rent include?

Your rent includes the following:

  • All utilities – gas, water and electricity
  • Fortnightly cleaning and linen exchange
  • Telephone line rental
  • Internet connection + Free WIFI for 2021 
  • Security
  • Linen – we supply 2 sheets, 1 blanket, 1 towel, 1 pillow, 1 pillow case, 1 mattress protector.

Additional linen can be purchased online via Your Shop.

What does my rent exclude?

You will still need to pay for:

  • Telephone calls
  • Miscellaneous charges such as lock out fees, damage or when extra cleaning maybe required.

Do we accept under 18 year old student bookings?

Yes! We welcome UNSW Foundation Year students, UNSW Undergraduate students and UNSW Institutions students – under 18 years old students. We have various policies and a specially designed building to ensure younger students are cared for, this also includes 24-hour service and on site management.

Are there any special rules for under 18 year olds?

Yes – this is to ensure a safe living environment. This includes:

  • Signing in at Reception on a nightly basis
  • 10pm nightly monitored curfew
  • Parents or guardians approval if student wants to stay elsewhere over night. Note: UniLodge @ UNSW under no circumstances are permitted to grant any approval for overnight absences. All requests are to be submitted to UNSW Foundation Year or UNSW Institution directly.
  • No alcohol is allowed on site
  • No smoking in apartments, private rooms or balconies

Are the multi-share apartments mixed gender?

No. We ensure that multi-share apartments are single gender only.

How many people share one bathroom in a multi-share apartment?

A maximum of only two people share one bathroom.

What items will I need to buy before I move in that are not in the apartment or not available at UniLodge to buy?

You will need to bring with you:

  • Cutlery
  • Crockery
  • Additional linen e.g.; Doona

Where can I find resources to manage my health and wellbeing?

UniLodge has listed a number of resources on our Student Health and Wellbeing page.
 

How long until my application is processed?

As soon as the $500 Reservation Fee has been received, we will then process the application.

Is there any discount for advance payments?

At this point in time – no.

What is the $500 Reservation Fee used for?

This is used to express interest in securing a room, this is not a confirmation of securing a room. $345 is non-refundable Application Fee and $155 will go towards a $1,000 Security Deposit upon confirmation of your reservation. If you are on our waitlist and we are unable to offer you a room the full $500 will be returned to you.

What if I wanted to break my lease what happens?

You are able to break your lease if you wish but conditions do apply. The most important things to remember are:

  • A two week’s occupancy penalty fee applies
  • Plus you are still responsible for making occupancy payments for your room until another resident is found to take over your lease.

Could you tell me about the internet connection and facilities?

Book for 2021 and get free WiFi internet - save up to $386* a year! *T&Cs Apply. This offer is only valid for bookings for 2021. WiFi internet normally costs $41 per month, $193 per semester and $386 per year.

Broadband internet connection is available in every bedroom and the common study room. The connection is linked to the University of New South Wales Information Technology department where you will be able to conveniently manage your accounts together with your university amenities. Please note:  Non-UNSW students from other institutions can only be used – UNSW Guess Wi-Fi internet service or connect Eduroam networks via their institutions.  

If I am on the waitlist how long will I need to wait for?

This will depend on cancellations or unexpected departures. However, we will contact you if a room becomes available. Note: Waitlisted applicants are accepted in order of receipt of completed application.
