Kangaroo Point is one of Brisbane’s most desirable suburbs, combining sparkling views with ultimate convenience. Perfectly positioned just south of the CBD and the Brisbane River, the suburb boasts a variety of parks, restaurants, cafes, recreational activities and walking paths.

With the Dockside Ferry Terminal an easy five-minute walk from your home, it’s easy to get around using Brisbane’s iconic CityCat ferries, or take a bus from Main Street at Story Bridge East, Stop 6 bus interchange, which is a three-minute walk away. There are well-utilised and maintained bike and walking paths, frequent buses to the city and Queensland University of Technology, and the ever-popular Brisbane CityCat ferry services from Dockside or Holman Streets.

To get amongst it and life Brisbane’s subtropical lifestyle, you can also take advantage of the popular riverfront Captain Burke Park. Spanning a large area underneath the Story Bridge, it has BBQs, amenities and a great playground. Further along the riverfront are the uber-relaxed Brisbane Jazz Club and the function area and recreation hub at Riverlife, where you can organise cliffside abseiling, kayaking and rock climbing.

Locals know Kangaroo Point for the clifftop views, but also for the renowned Story Bridge Hotel. This is where you can pick up a steak and a beer on tap in the heritage surrounds. There are loads of places to eat and drink, including craft brewery Sealegs Brewing Co, Japanese restaurant Mitoki, global contemporary dining Medley Kangaroo Point, and seafood specialists The Prawnstar. Relaxed dining, cafes and takeaway options include bakery Christian Jacques Artisan Boulanger, Byron Moonshine Coffee, and Joey’s Cafe.

Medical services are close by, including general practices and allied health centres. Queensland largest hospitals, the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, the Mater Hospital Brisbane and the Private Hospital, and the Queensland Children’s Hospital are all located within three kilometres. St Vincent's Private Hospital Brisbane is located in Kangaroo Point.

And don’t miss a dip in South Bank’s Streets Beach, Australia’s only inner-city, manmade beach. On a beautiful day (and let’s face it, Brisbane has plenty of them), the Botanic Gardens are well worth a visit, with gorgeous plant life to admire and a number of enviable picnic spots to nab.

The St Lucia area is a hub for uni students to hang out in, with an abundance of cheap eats and green spaces to hang out in. Just down the road from the UQ campus on Hawken Drive is an array of dining options, perfect for grabbing a bite to eat after a big day of classes.
