Q: What if I wanted to break my lease what happens?

You are able to break your lease if you wish but conditions do apply. The most important things to remember are: A two week’s occupancy penalty fee applies Plus you are still responsible for making occupancy payments for your room until another resident is found to take over your lease.

As soon as the $500 Reservation Fee has been received we process applications as soon as possible, however due to the enormous quantity of applications received it can take several weeks.. We process applications in order of the arrival dates. As an exampl

Q: Could you tell me about the internet facilities?

Broadband internet connection is available in every bedroom and the common study room. The connection is linked to the University of New South Wales Information Technology department where you will be able to conveniently manage your accounts together with your university amenities.

Q: How do I reserve a room?

Complete the online application using our Accommodation Portal. If you would rather, you can also call our office on (02) 9017 6250 or email unsw@unilodge.com.au where our friendly team will be very happy to help.

Q: What is the $500 Reservation Fee used for?

This is used to express interest in securing a room, this is not a confirmation of securing a room. $335 is non-refundable Application Fee and $165 will go towards a $1,000 Security Deposit upon confirmation of your reservation. If you are on our waitlist and we are unable to offer you a room the full $500 will be returned to you.

Q: If I am on the waitlist how long will I need to wait for?

Again due to the popularity of the building it is difficult to say how long you maybe on a waitlist. This will depend on cancellations or unexpected departures. However, we will contact you if a room becomes available. Note: Waitlisted applicants are accepted in order of receipt of completed application.

Q: Do we accept under 18 year old student bookings?

Yes! We welcome UNSW Foundation Year students, UNSW Undergraduate students and UNSW Institutions students – under 18 years old students. We have various policies and a specially designed building to ensure younger students are cared for, this also includes 24-hour service and on site management.

Q: Are there any special rules for under 18 year olds?

Yes – this is to ensure a safe living environment. This includes: Signing in at Reception on a nightly basis 10pm nightly monitored curfew Parents or guardians approval if student wants to stay elsewhere over night. Note: UniLodge @ UNSW under no circumstances are permitted to grant any approval for overnight absences. All requests are to be submitted to UNSW Foundation Year or UNSW Institution directly. No alcohol is allowed on site No smoking in apartments, private rooms or balconies

Q: Are the multi-share apartments mixed gender?

No. We ensure that multi-share apartments are single gender only.

Q: How many people share one bathroom in a multi-share apartment?

A maximum of only two people share one bathroom.

The laundry room includes both coin-operated washing machines and dryers. Access to the laundry is available 24/7, so you can do your washing at any time of the day. The laundry room also includes ironing facilities, located on the ground floor, $4 per wash and $3 per dry.
