How do I apply to live at UniLodge Lincoln House?

You can apply directly via the UniLodge website, click here. Non University of Melbourne students are welcomed to apply.

Is there an application fee?

There is no application fee if you apply via UniLodge. For University of Melbourne students, you can also apply to stay via the University of Melbourne website and there will be an application fee. For more info, please visit their website

Where can I find resources to manage my health and wellbeing?

Do I need to be a University of Melbourne student to stay at UniLodge Lincoln House?

No it is not compulsory to be a University of Melbourne student to apply to stay at UniLodge Lincoln House. 

When will you be welcoming residents to this great property?

We welcomed our first group of residents on 10 February, 2020.

Building is now open for inspection.

Inspections Times:

Monday to Friday: 9am to 5pm

What utilities are included in my rent?

Electricity, gas and water consumption is included in your rent along with unlimited internet / Wi-Fi allowance.
NB. This combined value is conservatively estimated to be approximately $125/month in value.

What is an Ensuite Bedroom?

An Ensuite Bedroom includes the following - toilet, shower, basin with storage cabinet. 

Can I have a pet?

This property does not allow pets. 

What is the Resident Life Program?

The Resident Life Program is an integrated, contemporary, student life program, run by UniLodge for our residents. It is designed to support and bring out the best in each resident through the duties and activities carried out by Senior residents, Residential Advisors, the Residential Life Manager, the Customer service staff, and the General Manager.

How many room types do you have to choose from?

There are two main room types for you to choose from:

  • Standard Bedroom 
  • Ensuite Bedroom 

Do I have my own kitchenette in my room?

You do not have a kitchenette in your room - however what you will have access to is an amazing Communal Kitchen and Dining area for all your cooking requirements. 

If we are sharing a kitchen, who is responsible for keeping it clean?

The common area kitchen and dining area are regularly cleaned by cleaners appointed by UniLodge. The cleaners’ duties do not include tasks that are your responsibility such as: 

  • Washing up your dirty dishes
  • Removing rubbish and placing it in the rubbish bins ($50 penalties may apply)

Any items left in the common area kitchen will be thrown away into the rubbish. Any sink blocked by food must be reported to a UniLodge staff member. Charges may apply.

How do I go about washing my clothes?

A coin-operated laundry with washing machines and dryers is located on level 2, next to the sports lounge.

Can I store my bicycle?

Bicycle racks are located in the security bike storage room. You are encouraged to use this secure bicycle storage, and not leave your bike outside you room. You are not permitted to leave your bike in your room, as it can cause damage to the wall that you will be liable for. 

I have a car, so is there are any car parking?

Car parking is not available at the property. Fortunately there is a convenient University-operated car park on Tiernan St, located directly opposite our building. The University has an annual fee for as little as $750* (which is less than $2 a day). *Price correct as at 21.06.19.

How will I receive delivery of my mail and parcels?

All mail and parcels are received by reception and can be collected during office hours (grocery and meal deliveries will not be accepted by UniLodge).

How do I keep my room warm when Melbourne goes chilly?

There is a Hydronic heater installed in your apartment. At no time should this be covered, or obstructed in anyway. Clothing and laundry cannot be hung over the heater as this is a dangerous fire hazard.
