About

Situated in the heart of Ōtautahi Christchurch– the second largest city in New Zealand – UC provides an immersive experience unlike many other universities. The campus’s leafy grounds provide students with a beautiful space for learning, in addition to modern facilities with cutting-edge laboratories, libraries, lecture theatres and cafés and bars where students can catch-up. With public transport options close by, and a flat cityscape getting from the university to other destinations throughout the city is easy. Nestled between Kā Tiritiri o te Moana, the majestic Southern Alps, and Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa, the abundant Pacific Ocean, UC offers students endless opportunities for education, exploration and recreation, with all the conveniences of an affordable modern city.

UC seeks to cultivate a spirit of curiosity that honours those who have gone before, while contributing to the pool of diverse knowledge that will in turn pass on to the next generation. UC’s renowned student clubs provide connection and community, allowing students the chance to find and be themselves and bring balance to their lives. As a top 1% university worldwide, UC empowers students and staff to overcome the challenges of the changing world, helping create a more sustainable, equitable and inclusive future for us all.
