Who can live at UniLodge Ultimo?

UniLodge Ultimo is available to full-time and part-time students enrolled at a recognised tertiary institution.

Do I need to be enrolled at a specific university to live at UniLodge Ultimo?

No. Students from UTS, USYD, TAFE NSW and other Sydney-based institutions are welcome.

Can international students apply?

Yes. UniLodge Ultimo welcomes both domestic and international students.

How far in advance should I apply?

We recommend applying as early as possible, especially for peak intake periods, as rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Are rooms fully furnished?

Yes. All studios come fully furnished with a bed, desk, chair, storage, kitchenette and private bathroom.

Are kitchen utensils or bedding provided?

Basic furniture is provided, but residents will need to bring their own bedding, cookware and personal items.

Is there an application fee?

Yes – there is a non-refundable application fee of $240.

Do I have to make an advanced payment?

Yes – to secure your accommodation you must pay $600, which includes the $240 application fee, a $230 departure clean fee, and a part payment of $130 towards your security deposit (which is the equivalent to four weeks occupancy fees).

If I cancel before move-in, will I be charged?

Cancel more than 28 days before your contract starts: $240 retained. Cancel within 28 days of the contract start date: the full $600 is charged.

Is room cleaning provided during my stay?

Residents are responsible for cleaning their own rooms during their stay.

Is there a cleaning fee?

Yes – a departure cleaning fee of $230 applies.

What if I break my contract early?

An Early Termination Fee applies – equivalent to two weeks’ occupancy fee (plus 10% GST) already paid before departure. This cannot be taken from the security deposit.

If I breach my contract, what happens?

If rent isn’t paid, UniLodge can deduct it from your security deposit. If the deposit isn’t enough, you must pay the remaining balance.

Are electricity costs included?

Yes – electricity is included in your occupancy fees.

What about internet/Wi-Fi?

Unlimited Wi-Fi is included as part of your occupancy fees.

Are pets allowed at UniLodge Ultimo?

No. UniLodge Ultimo is a pet-free property.

UniLodge Ultimo is a smoke-free building. Smoking is not permitted in rooms or common areas.

Can extra guests stay with me?

No – additional guests are not allowed.

Is the building secure?

Yes. The property features secure access, CCTV and on-site staff support.

Is there on-site staff available?

Yes. Friendly on-site staff are available during office hours to assist residents.

How do I report maintenance issues?

Maintenance requests can be submitted through reception or the resident portal, and will be attended to by the on-site team.

Is UniLodge Ultimo close to public transport?

Yes. The property is within walking distance of Central Station, buses and light rail services.

How close is UniLodge Ultimo to UTS and USYD?

UniLodge Ultimo is just a short walk to UTS, making it extremely convenient for students studying on campus. USYD is also easily accessible, either by a comfortable walk or via public transport. Regular bus services and the light rail operate nearby, providing quick and direct connections to the USYD campus. With multiple transport options available, getting to both universities is simple and stress free.

Are car parking spaces available?

No – but free bicycle parking is available.

What are check-in times and days?

Check-in is Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

Do you offer after-hours check-in?

Yes, by prior arrangement only. Please contact us to make those arrangements.
