Where is Parkville?

Just a short ride from the city, Parkville is the perfect mix of study and lifestyle. Think leafy streets, heritage houses, and plenty of green space for a study break in Royal Park. You’ll find some of Melbourne’s top education and research hubs here – including the University of Melbourne – plus major hospitals if you’re in health or science.

Fun Fact: Nearly 1 in 3 locals speak a language other than English, with Mandarin, Cantonese, and Spanish the most common – so it’s a truly multicultural place to live and study!

Things to Do:

  1. Visit Melbourne Zoo. Melbourne Zoo is home to over 300 species, from elephants and tigers to penguins and native wildlife. Wander through themed habitats, meet the animals, and learn how the zoo is helping protect endangered species.

  3. Check out Science Gallery Melbourne. Based at Melbourne Connect, the University of Melbourne’s innovation precinct, this gallery blends art with cutting-edge science to spark ideas and curiosity. Part of an international network, it features exhibitions, talks, and hands-on experiences designed to challenge thinking and inspire the next wave of innovators.
  4. Take in the sights at Ikon Park Stadium. Ikon Park has been home to the Carlton Football Club since 1897. Following a major redevelopment in 2008, the stadium now seats 22,000 and continues to host big events, including the 2018 AFLW Grand Final. Check out upcoming events here.
