Heading off to Uni can be incredibly exciting, but leaving behind the safe and familiar to embark on a new challenge – often in a new city, filled with new faces and experiences – can also be quite daunting.
We’ve got a fix for that. We call it our Residential Life Program and, as the name suggests, it’s all about building a sense of community through social events, group activities and adventure.
You’ll learn new skills, improve your wellbeing and make lifelong friendships. You’ll be there for others, and your fellow residents and staff will be there for you.
Residents get far more than a room at UniLodge. They get each other.
Being a Resident Assistant at Rotary International House is a cornerstone to my professional development. The training and professional support provided by UniLodge strengthened my leadership skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural residential area has allowed me to hone my communication skills with a collaborative and multidisciplinary team.
As a RA, I have been empowered by UniLodge to play an essential role in building residential community by acting as a mentor. I have learnt the importance of reviewing various residential policies and ensuring the safety of students in common areas; dealing with emergencies and providing first aid, observing and reporting the state of the residential buildings and determining the need for maintenance and repairs.
