How do I reserve a room?

Complete the online application. Once we have received your application, we will send you a rental offer. To accept this offer you will be required to pay the first month’s rental and for any additional service options that you choose. Before you move into WSU Penrith Village, a bond equal to one month’s rental will be required. If you need any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.

What does my rent include?

A fully furnished apartment, all utilities are included, access to unlimited internet and wifi through WSU and use of our common facilities.

Does this property have an Application fee?

Yes. The resident must pay an Application Fee of $100 to secure their apartment, this is to be paid upon acceptance of an offer of accommodation.

What utility costs am I responsible for?

Water and electricity are included in your weekly rent.

Are car parking spaces available?

Western Sydney University's security looks after all of the on campus parking. It is important to make sure that you display the relevant parking permit on your vehicle at all times. Do I need to organise my own Contents Insurance?

Yes, this is not included in your rent.

Do you offer after hours check-in?

Yes, you will need to contact the Night Manager or reception. The Night Manager will have you complete some paperwork, provide you with your key and show you to your apartment.

Do I need to pay a departure clean fee?

No, there is no not set departure cleaning fee, however additional cleaning fees may apply if you fail to clean your room on departure.

Where can I find resources to manage my health and wellbeing?

WSU staff can connect you with various Health and Wellbeing services offered on campus.

Is there a cancellation fee once I have secured an apartment?

  • $100 Application Fee
  • Activity Fee:
    • $100 for Full Year
    • $50 for Semester
    • $25 for Flexible Contract
  • 4 Weeks Security Deposit
  • Credit/Debit card charges apply

If I wanted to break my lease, what are the costs associated with this?

You will be charged an Early Termination Fee equal to two weeks of Occupancy Fees and will be responsible for finding a suitable replacement to take over the remainder of the contract.

Do I need a mattress protector?

No, we will provide you with a mattress protector when you check in.

What are your check-in times and days?

Check in is available 7 days a week. During Peak periods check in may not be available until after 2 pm.
 

Why are you claiming my Bond?

WSU can try to recover all or part of the bond at the end of a tenancy if:

The tenant or resident:

    • or their visitors have damaged the property
    • has left and owes rent (rent in arrears)
    • has abandoned the premises 
    • has left you to pay bills they should have paid 
  • there are cleaning or repair expenses that exceed normal ‘wear and tear’
  • items that were part of the tenancy agreement are missing.
