Peter Bates is a civil engineer by profession, having graduated from the University of Queensland in Brisbane. Peter started with the construction arm of Lend Lease, Civil & Civic in 1987 in Brisbane and enjoyed a 19-year career with Lend Lease. His time with Lend Lease took him to many locations in Australia and into Asia where he spent nine years in Bangkok, Singapore and Shanghai in senior management roles.

Peter’s experience in Asia brought him into contact with many different social and business cultures and he has continued to build a strong culture of success in growing businesses.

Peter left his role as General Manager for Bovis Lend Lease in Queensland and joined Meridien Student Living in September 2006 as Chief Executive for the UniLodge business. Over the past two years, Peter has grown the UniLodge business from 3,500 beds under management to close to 6,000 beds currently.

Eleanor is recognised nationally and internationally for her expertise in quality assurance, customer service, change management and building high performance teams, and was awarded the prestigious Telstra Queensland Business Woman of the Year in 2006.

She has worked in over 10 countries and has a depth of experience in operational management having held senior executive roles with Hilton International and most recently with Carlton Group of Hotels. Eleanor also has high profile business relationships and acumen that stem from her positions on the University of Queensland Senate, the Premier’s Roundtable in Queensland, and she is a board member of the Southbank Corporation.

Eleanor was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of UniLodge in March 2007.

Keith joined UniLodge in 1997 and has over 20 years experience in the hospitality and residential accommodation management. Keith works in our development group as Senior Project Manager with key responsibilities for facilities management and the strategic planning and commissioning of new developments.

Prior to joining UniLodge, Keith held management positions in international hotels and apartments within groups such as Mayfair Crest, Ramada group, Medina and Swiss Garden hotels and resorts.

Lan joined UniLodge in February 2005 as Group Financial Controller. A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and in Australia, Lan has 18 years experience in property financial accounting and reporting for both listed and unlisted entities.

Prior to joining the company, Lan has previously held senior accounting roles with Principal Global Investors, BT Funds Management, Macquarie Goodman and Axiom Funds Management.
