| UniLodge Brisbane is famous for its Pizza Nights…. Drawing an enormous crowd – this time around 150 students attended! There was every type of pizza you can imagine on offer (some you couldn’t imagine). Of course it isn’t a party without music – there was plenty of that and plenty of cheering going on during the Pool Competition. All UniLodge staff were at the event – it’s a great opportunity to hear student feedback, first hand. |

News from UniLodge @ ANU |

| The Community Spirit for both ANU properties is off to an excellent start for 2009. Over 70 people applied for the five Resident Advisors (RAs) and six Community Assistant (CAs) roles for each property. This provides us with encouragement and confidence that UniLodge residents clearly support the new Community Spirit program and our efforts to create a living environment full of support, friendships, fun and academic achievements. |

|
| In addition – breaking news for all UniLodge residents staying in 2009 - there will be 30 ANU & UniLodge Community Scholarships available to any resident during the year that can maintain a “C” grade average. They also must demonstrate their active involvement within the Community Spirit program including assisting the RA’s and CA’s to build a great spirit and supportive environment like no other. Each Scholarship is equivalent to $2500 and will be awarded at the end of the year to the most successful, active, involved and supportive residents of Unilodge @ ANU. |

| The new veggie patch has rapidly grown in size over such a short period of time. From a small start with just six ‘green’ team members we have now over a dozen students caring for the patch. You can see from the photo it’s almost harvest time. This is a great opportunity for students to get involved in something that requires constant care and nurturing and provides a wonderful form of stress relief, relaxation and friendship building, not to mention real satisfaction and amazing nutritional value. |

| Anyone for chess? All the team, students and staff, are focused on enhancing the student experience – here is the latest addition, a new outdoor chessboard. Located in our southern courtyard next to BBQ’s and furniture, residents will now be able to relax and unwind over a friendly game of chess….. checkmate UniLodge @ ANU. |
