Well as it was our first fundraiser we set a realistic goal to raise $400. After the event I‘m happy to say that between both online and collected cash donations we reached over $900! We were able to do this with support from great staff and resident team. Apart from all the money raised we all had one crazy day. On Sunday 15 March we enjoyed a great sausage sizzle with residents and staff and by the end of the day we all sported some crazy hair styles. While most people didn‘t go as far as shaving for this cause they were happy to style & colour. There were extra brave points given to those who did shave...which included myself. Everyone had a great time and a good laugh – excellent community spirit! We will be looking at raising over $1000 next time.

| Peter Warrington, GM for the Unilodge at ANU has booked in the free service of this wonderful organisation called “Red Frogs̶. Red Frogs are a nationwide free service where Volunteers donate their time to set up re–hydration stations at any event where
alcohol and students are involved. They work the crowd handing out thousands of red frogs, donuts, icy poles, water and so on as a means of protecting the youth of today from the dangerous effects of binge drinking or simply getting intoxicated by too much alcohol. “Red Frogs” have been booked in to attend everyone of Unilodge at ANU functions for 2009 where alcohol will be present. Unilodge @ ANU‘s “meet and greet” event on Monday the 16th of Feb had over 250+ residents attend, everyone had a great time. “Red frogs” were present and the residents loved the frogs, food and snacks provided. ...honestly what uni student doesn‘t love free food!

| UniLodge Sydney kicked off with their traditional welcome party on their rooftop with the best backdrop you have ever seen – the Sydney city skylight! Hundreds of students turned out for a traditional Aussie barbeque and this was the first taste of such delights as sausages in bread for some new residents! The band was great and students danced the night away, interrupted only with the presentation of some awesome prizes thanks to Student Travel Association! Residents are looking forward to Aussie trips, indoor rock climbing, other sports, games nights, special interest forums, seminars plus more. Go Sydney! |

| Not to be outdone by UniLodge @ ANU, @ Melbourne have gone green too. What you may ask does that mean? It means that a group of like minded students have got together to form the “green team”. This team is responsible for planting, growing and nurturing a gorgeous herb garden. They‘re going to be very busy keeping 313 students in veggies! Also congratulations for implementing a policy on “4 minute showers” to help reduce the use of water – sorry girls. |

| Car enthusiasts enjoyed an afternoon viewing some incredible and very pricey cars at the Melbourne Motor Show in March. From all reports it was a blast! From innovative futuristic green cars, to modern innovations, to red-hot Lamborghinis! Later that evening, residents chilled out and discussed their dream cars over some red–hot sizzling snags (that‘s Aussie for sausages of course). |

| The UniLodge GM of Marketing & Communications, Karen Vanderpols visited this new property last month. “I had the pleasure of staying in one of the penthouses twice last month. What a great experience with views of Adelaide CBD, two levels of almost five star luxury – any student would be in their element! I thought the staff were just great, really warm and welcoming to our new students. For me the stand out features were the common lounge and kitchen areas, especially the outdoor garden terrace on level 7 where there is even an outdoor chess set. Being so close to the city shops was just great and the unis are so close – just a five minute walk away.” |

| Senior Residents from Unilodge @ ANU were invited to attend the opening dinner of the new “Spicy Ginger Cafe” located within the new Davey Lodge building. As senior residents they also play a valuable role as mentors and add to the supportive structure for all new residents. As a thank you for a busy week of training and also to assist in promoting the new cafe we all enjoyed a specially created lunch and tasting of all dishes within the menu. The new restaurant and cafe is open daily from 8am to 8pm, 7 days per week. |

| Property news – a glance |
| Due to unprecedented demand from students, UniLodge on Swanston closed its small hotel operation last month. General Manager Brett Hohn commented, “It‘s an excellent strategy, now we can focus on what we do best just providing a great home for all our students”. |

| At UniLodge @ Melbourne the energy saving light globe program has commenced. Each time an apartment is vacated we are replacing the old ones. Our common kitchen refurb is all but finished, reports Bradley Brown Property Manager – Operations. Bradley also laughs and tells us, “Residents have commented the new kitchen appliances such as microwaves and range hoods are cool!” We‘ll take that as a compliment! |

| UniLodge Brisbane have gone all out with their social responsibility focus – a paperless office. The electronic filing system has copped a lot of complaints, but GM Andy Ng is determined to make it work. “Any change can be difficult – but it doesn‘t take long and you get used to it. We have to be doing our bit”, he commented. |
